State of the art training studio opens

The officially opening has taken place of the brand new training studio facility at the Erewash Sound Academy.

The new industry-standard radio studio facilities are now available at the Academy site in Cotmanhay and will be used by trainees on the Academy’s various radio and media training courses.

The new facilities were largely funded by a grant from the DHL UK Foundation and met young presenters during an ongoing session and Nicky Donovan, Programme Manager from the foundation, was among a number of guests at the special opening evening on 5th September.

Other guests in attendance at the opening event included many members of the Erewash Sound team, the Mayor of Erewash and Capital FM Breakfast Show presenter, Pete Allen, who performed the opening ceremony and cut the ribbon to declare the facilities officially open.

The new studio facilities will be used by the Erewash Sound Academy as part of their offering of various training opportunities including those leading to NCFE level accreditation. The Academy has already given training to individuals that have acquired a wide range of skills to take up paid jobs both within and outside the broadcasting industry, however the provision of the studio by DHL UK Foundation will take a particular focus on training young people.
